What is T8-T5 Retrofit Kit? T8-T5 Retrofit Kit is a product for users currently using T8 luminaries looking at reducing energy consumption. 2.) What is T8 and what is T5? T8 is the standard for conventional Fluorescent Tube that we are generally using in our environment. The length of the tube is generally 120cm (4 feet) or 60cm (2 feet). As for T5, it is the new standard that is set to replace T8 Fluorescent tube. 3.) Why is there a need for T8-T5 Retrofit Kit? As T5 tubes are shorter in length and smaller in the diameter, hence a direct replacement is not possible. In addition, T5 uses Electronic Ballast instead of Magnetic Ballast to ignite the tube. 4.) What does the T8-T5 Retrofit compose of? The T8-T5 Retrofit composes of a Convertor, an Electronic Ballast and a T5 Tube. 5.) Can we change the T5 Tube when it is burn out? Yes you can. When the tube is burn out, you can buy one off the shelf and replace it directly. 6.) What is the service life of your T5 Tube? Service life of T5 tube is 15,000 hours, tested under controlled environment. 7.) What is the service life of the Electronic Ballast? Service life of Electronic Ballast is 30,000 hours, tested under controlled environment. 8.) Since the service life of the tube and the ballast are as specified, why is the warranty only one (1) year? Service life of each individual item is determined by testing performed under a controlled environment. However, the warranty does not equate to the service life of the product when in used over several operating conditions. Similarly, when you buy a TV set that has service life of 5 years, the warranty given is only one (1) year. 9.) So how do you differentiate your product against others? All manufacturers provide a guide to the service life of their product but did not warrant their product. We are also providing a service life guide of our product but at the same time, we are providing a one (1) year warranty for any uncalculated defects it may have which other manufacturer do not. Therefore, the one warranty we provide prove that we have confidence in the product.
